Explaining Limited Registration
When our puppies leave us to head off to their new homes they are placed on the limited register with the Dogs Qld (formerly called Canine Control Council of Qld) unless you are a registered breeder with a controlling canine body (either in australia or overseas). What does this mean you might ask? You are still obtaining a registered pedigree Labrador Retreiver but limited register means you can not breed a pedigree'd litter or show them. This however does not stop someone from doing obedience trials, retrieving or tracking.
Every litter is different and not all puppies in a litter are "show quality" by placing them on the limited register it is my way of ensuring the future betterment of the Labrador Retriever breed. Show quality only means the best example of the breed as a whole for showing or possible future breeding purposes. However this does not take away from the other lab puppies in the litter that would still be wonderful as a companion, drug detection dog, guide dog or just a much loved additional family member.
